Mediation
Mediation saves people from costly litigation.
AMCS
August Mediation and Counseling Services
AMCS offers mediation services for civil, commercial, family, and church conflicts. Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process by which parties in conflict can resolve their issues through communication, negotiation, and compromise. Our goal is to assist parties in resolving conflicts before the issues result in costly litigation and to address the interests of all involved.
AMCS is trained/certified to mediate:
- Interpersonal conflict
- Family conflict (martial/couple/divorce)
- Commercial/organizational/non-profit/church
- Civil conflict
- Workplace conflict
AMCS is able to provide mediation services online and in person. Depending on the case, AMCS will work with the parties to determine what is most sensible and cost-effective. If the mediation is in-person, AMCS will work with parties to identify a location that suits all involved. If the mediation is to be online, parties are required to have a computing device (laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone) with a working camera and working microphone. Each party is responsible for finding a quiet physical location where conversations can be kept confidential. Each party is responsible for informing the mediator if there are other people in the room not visible to the camera. If AMCS hosts the mediation online, no additional software purchase is necessary.
The basic path to AMCS mediation services will include:
- Initial interview with potential parties to gauge if AMCS is able to serve their needs and to determine when/where (no cost to the client)
- If AMCS is able to perform the mediation, the parties will agree to terms and fees beforehand; then, the mediation is scheduled.
